Really well put. The guardrail that's worked in my corner is boring but effective: every screen has to trace back to an objective and an assessment before it ships. Polished slides that don't serve either get cut, no matter how good they look.
Good job! When I do storyboarding, I always make sure that each knowledge object in the content and every quiz question in the final test can be traced back to an objective. I think that’s similar to your idea that “every screen has to trace back to an objective and an assessment before it ships.”
