AI voices following the latest Storyline 360 update
Hi,
I was in the middle of creating a software simulation recording using one of the AI voices. When I added a new TTS voiceover, the dialog box defaulted to the one I've been using the whole time during creation.
Now, following the update, every time I add a new voiceover to the course, I have to re-select my chosen voice.
Is there anyway to make Storyline default to the voice I've been using the whole time instead of having to keep reselecting the one I want?
I've attached a couple of screenshots.
Screenshot 1 - it's saying 'Laura' is in use in the project
Screenshot 2 - showing that I'm only using Alice in the project.
It's very annoying.
Thank you
Karen
Hello everyone!
Happy to share that we've just released new updates for Storyline 360 and AI Assistant!
In Update 117, we've included essential fixes and new features. We've released a fix for:
- The text-to-speech feature defaulted to the Laura voice, even when another voice was chosen.
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You’ll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you need additional help.

I am having the same problem!

Same problem for me.
Please, fix it Hi Karen, we are aware of the issue and will be fixing it so that when you click the TTS button in the ribbon, it won’t default to Laura. A workaround for now though is to click an existing TTS (from the list on the left) and click “New Voiceover”, and then it will keep the voice and even all the advanced settings the same.

This did not work for me.
Hi LynnKurtz-992f7,
Sorry to hear that you're having trouble applying the workaround shared by Annie.
I've recorded a quick Peek to help illustrate the proper steps. Please let me know if this works for you.
Also, I've included your voice in the bug report that's being tracked, so we can notify you as soon as a fix is ready!

I am still having issues with this after updating.

I do not have an update available, and this issue is truly bothersome. I also dislike that after I insert speech-to-text, the window stays open (when it used to close automatically). Is that going to be fixed as well?

Hi, Ainsley_Burnett!
Can you please confirm which version you're currently using? You can check by opening the Articulate 360 desktop app, selecting the drop-down arrow next to Storyline 360, and select Other Versions...
Lastly, I've shared your feedback with our product team about the window remaining open while you navigate the course. We'll let you know if there are any changes!

I thought I had done all the updates, but after I left my comment earlier, another update showed up, or perhaps I did not install it when I thought I did. Either way, it appears to be fixed now, so thank you!

It's working fine for me now after the update 117 😉

Thank you for following up! I was able to locate and install the update, so it's no longer defaulting to Laura. While I do not like that the window stays open, I suppose it could be convenient for other users.
