Audio autostart
Hey Mary - just a bit more color on this. We have shied away from auto-start of media because it's not a web-standard experience on multi-device. For example, if you were on a site on your phone and all of sudden it started playing audio or video it would be a pretty intrusive experience.

Hi Adam, I've come to this thread through a different one about auto-play. If a student or learner is on a mobile device to take a course, that's very different than just casually browsing a website, so I don't see that as a one-to-one comparison. It seems like auto-play should be a feature that designers can select if they want to use it for learning. An instructional designer always can state to users in course instructions that the audio will auto-play, learners should be using headphones, etc., in order to give learners a heads up and establish what the norms and expectations are for taking the course.

Hello. I know this post is 4 years old but I would like to throw my two cents in about this. I agree that random audio popping up on my phone when I don't expect it is annoying, but if I am running a training course, I kind of expect audio to play. I would almost expect people to wonder if there is something wrong with their audio connection if it didn't start up automatically. I would REALLY like to see this function added to Rise. Given that if I create a course in Storyline, which can also easily be viewed on a phone, I can hear auto-played audio in that case.
Thanks
