Audio skipping during playback
I recorded audio in Storyline via the record mic option. I made some edits in the audio editor and all tested good. When I went to preview my slide, the audio began skipping and and would get hung up. Now when I access the editor it is doing the same thing. Is the audio file now corrupt? Is there a way to fix this issue?
Thank you,
Erin

Hi Erin and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
When adding audio in Storyline, be sure to work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior. You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate). Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.
Are you utilizing the latest update, which is Update 6?
In case it's just this file, I'd also try opening a new Storyline project and import this older one into the blank project.
Hi Erin!
Another thought is that perhaps you can share the audio file so that we can see if it's choppy? You can check out this tutorial for how to export and you can just share it with us here. Just in case it's not corruption as my first post indicated

I have a somewhat similar probem. I record an audio track using the record from mic feature in Storyline. The track plays normally when opened in the audio editor, but when I play it from the Timeline, to set my cue points, the sound cuts out before the track finishes playing. This does not happen everytime, but often enough to cause problems. It does not appear to matter if the audio track is in the slide base layer, or an additional layer within the slide. Any ideas as to what can be causing this?
Hi Edward!
Are you running the latest update of Storyline, which is Update 6?
Have you confirmed that you're working with all local project files?

Additionally, have you tried to conduct a repair of Storyline? If you're able to confirm the above and conduct the repair, please feel free to share your .story file with our team here.

I have the same issue, various mics, plenty of memory in the PC (8GB), latest drivers. When recording from the mic and then playing back the sound is heavily distorted and skipping. When published the sound is fine. This is a bug in the audio preview / editor somewhere and I wish it would be fixed.

I never had this problem until today, and I am in AS2. Case #01052569, has anyone figured this out yet?
Hi Alexander! This thread is a bit dated and was for Storyline 1. Can you verify what version/update of Storyline you are utilizing? Do you have the issue in any project or just a particular one?

OK uninstalled and reinstalled, same behavior. Stuttered audio in the audio editor and audio preview.
