I was wondering why if you are using a background image though out your course that background image changes color (getting lighter or darker) whenever you use an Storyline interaction? It doesn't do this with any other function that I have seen so far except when putting a Storyline interaction into the course. Is there a way to prevent this or go in and change it back (perhaps in the coding you can see in the inspect function)?

Testing the behavior on my end, I didn't notice the background image change color when viewing a Storyline Block.
If the image background is obscuring your block content, have you tried adjusting the Overlay settings? Select a light or dark transparent overlay, then adjust its opacity as needed by percentage. Overlay adjustments affect text contrast and in-line graphical elements. For instance, if you select a dark overlay, the text color will be light and vice versa.
