Best way to do a tally quiz to recommend one of 8 outcomes

This is a bit of a tricky one. There must be a way but I cant quite get it right in my head. 

I want to ask the learner a series of questions, each with four answers. Each answer will relate one of eight recommended courses. At the end of the 20 questions, I want to be able to recommend one or two of the 8 courses based on their answers. So I feel I need something like a tally behind the scenes, if they pick answer 1, then a tally goes in one bucket, answer 2 in a different bucket. 

The graded quizes use points per answer which wont work, so wasn't sure if I would need to build something bespoke and use variables but I cant figure out how to add to a variable if a user selects something.

I know this sounds really confusing, but if anyone gets what I am trying to do, I would appreciate any tips. Thanks
