Bold not BOLD: New Storyline font issues
The title is a bit of an oversimplification; Storyline 360 is having issues with font weights, specifically Ubuntu Sans, but the issue may extend to other fonts. This issue has been replicated on multiple devices, licenses, projects, and more and is consistent.
The font, in this case Ubuntu Sans, will appear bold within Storyline 360 when the selected text is boldened. However, when published, either in SCORM or Review360, the font appears as normal, and not bold. Users can even manually select the font to be 'Ubuntu Sans Bold' and Storyline 360 recognizes it, it appears bold, but publishes normal.
The font is installed correctly, has been uninstalled and reinstalled, and this issue did not exist up until potentially the past couple of weeks, likely the past week. The font(s) also load correctly in all other programs.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Below see the first text box only uses Ubuntu Sans, the second uses Ubuntu Sans and Ubuntu Sans Bold, and then the third is just Arial:

Update: NONE of the other fonts work for Ubuntu Sans. ExtraBold, Bold, Semibold, etc.

Storyline web player don't support "variable fonts" - you have to install the static version of the font

Hello, I am having the same exact issue with my module. We use Ubuntu Sans for everything. I can't find where to download the static version of the fonts? Can anyone help?
Hi, Spencer!
I see my teammate has reached out to you in a support case. We'll continue the conversation there!

I am having the same issue. I am using Myriad Pro, and it is Bold in Storyline and Preview mode, but not in review or when published to the web. So far, this is the only course with the issue; all others have published correctly.
Hi SamFarr-53dbd86!
Sorry to hear custom fonts are not rendering properly, when publishing from Storyline!
First, I suggest performing a repair of your Storyline installation. If that doesn't improve the issue, I recommend following the steps Jurgen shared earlier in the discussion. Storyline's output does not support the Variable instance of custom fonts. To address this, it helpful to always use the Static version, if available.
Let me know how it goes!

This is an issue with this one course, and we always use the same font. No one else on the team is having this issue.
