Browser Screen Flashes Between Slides
Hi all,
When playing a published Storyline 360 project (v3.3.9986.0) in a Chrome web browser, I experience a single brief white-screen flash when I move/navigate between the slides/screens.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks in advance,
Simon

Hi
Is there any progress on this?
I have just created a course using storyline 360 and experience the blinking between the "view mode" slides. Hey, Henriette. So sorry you're running into this flashing problem. We can help!
To help us dig deeper, here are a few key questions to start:
- What version of Storyline 360 are you using?
- Did you publish the course for Web, LMS, or something else?
- What browser(s) do you experience the blinking? If it's only happening in IE11: Most browsers ignore off-slide objects, but IE attempts to display them, which causes the flicker effect. More on that here!
- Could you share your .story file with us for testing? Feel free to either add the course as a comment by using the Add Attachment button in your reply or send it privately via this link! We'll dig into the file and let you know what we find!

Thanks for your REPLY, eventhough this is an old thread.
I have used V3.20.16814.0 Storyline 360.
I publish for LMS, HTML 5.
IE 11, but same issue in Chrome.
I will send the course to in the private link. Thanks
Thanks Henriette.
I see that you were able to reach out to our support team and Cleo is already taking a look. You should be hearing from him soon.

Bonjour,

Same bad flickering or quick shifting for me as well IE 11 and the newest version of Chrome and publishing to HTML5. As we know Flash publishing is no longer a viable option. Please post when the bug fix/patch is implemented. (Storyline 3)
Hey Paul,
Thanks for reaching out and letting us know that you're seeing an issue with flickering as well.
It looks like we've actually had a few issues here.
Is the flickering you are currently experiencing happening with HTML5 output on a screen recording of Try Mode or are you seeing another issue?
If you could share your .story file for us to take a look, that would be helpful as well.

I updated everything today and I am still having this same flickering problem. I never had this problem with SL2. We would really like to see a solution, because the program is not usable like this.

Hi Scott
I solved the issue with the “flash in try scenes” by changing to classic player. Modern player is obviously fading in and out and therefore we get the flash. It also helped keeping the automatically created captions on a separate layer, as the program is doing by default (I actually moved them to base layer……). I hope this will help you too. Hey Scott,
Thanks for reaching out and letting us know that you're running into an issue with flickering in your course.
- Is this happening with a screen recording?
- How are you publishing and viewing the course?
- Are you experiencing the issue in a particular browser?
Would you be able to share your .story so that we could take a look?

This flicker issue is still going on in multiple browsers, but the last post in this thread is from long ago. Is this being discussed elsewhere?
Hi there, Joseph. Thank you for checking in and sharing your case with my team. It looks like you're experiencing a flicker between screen recording step-by-step slides with Storyline 360.
We are tracking customer impact for this issue, so every case matters! I don't have an update, but we'll share new information here and in your case.
