Embedded Content in Rise: Browser compatibility issues
I am having trouble with embedded content in Rise displaying properly for Safari, IOS and Android browsers in Workday LMS. For example, embedded YouTube and Vimeo links, Microsoft Forms and Storyline blocks are not working for users unless they use Chrome or Edge browser. Is there a technical solution Has anyone else been dealing with this problem?
Hi ShannonRankin,
I'm happy to jump in here!
If the course worked in SCORM Cloud, it might be a good idea to reach out to your Workday administrator to check on specific settings. I would also still advise learners to do the following:
- Use one of our supported browsers and ensure it's up-to-date on the latest version
- Check that these network endpoints are enabled on their device
I hope this helps!

Hi ShannonRankin!
Sorry to hear you're facing playback issues when uploading Rise content to Workday LMS!
Workday delivers SCORM content within its own iframe. Some video providers reject being embedded inside nested iframes, especially on Safari mobile. This can lead to blank screens or non-responsive Blocks, even though Chrome and Edge may render them.
Also, testing the published output with SCORM Cloud is a great way to determine if playback issues are completely LMS-related. If the course works as expected in SCORM Cloud, it's possible certain browser settings may need to be adjusted within the LMS environment. Your LMS administrator may be able to provide insight on that process.
I'll open the floor to our community members using Workday LMS as well, for additional suggestions!

Thank you! We did test and it works as expected using Chrome or EDGE on a mobile device, but not Safari or Firefox. Is that a Workday setting that can be adjusted do you think or do we need to advise learners to use EDGE or Chrome?
