Can Rise modules be downloaded and run offline?

Hello,

I am very new the Articulate platforms and am at the beginning stages of exploring the free trial.

Can anyone share whether once a Rise 360 module/course is created online, can it downloaded and run offline?

Thanks!

    Hi Roberta,

You can export your Rise 360 course for "web".

This will produce a ZIP with the course contents.

You will then need to find a way to distribute the ZIP file to your audience.

They will need to unzip the file on their local computer.

Once that has been done they will be able to use the course.

Not that when you export a course for "web", there is no bookmarking or tracking. This means that when someone returns to the course after a previous session, there will be no record of what they did before and they will have to start over from the beginning of the course.

  • Hello Karl

Thank you for the explanation. You may have received this reply by email too.

Our charity’s purpose is to provide greater access to quality education with the children in rural Cambodia. The plan is to create e-learning units and use Moodle as a LMS. We will be running Moodle offline through a device called RACHEL (Remote Area Community Hotspot for Education and Learning).

We love the ‘ease to design’ of R360 and wonder if the zip file from R360 can be uploaded to Moodle? If so, when students experience the A360 learning via Moodle, it doesn’t require any access to internet right?

      Hi Roberta,

If you choose to export your course for "LMS" instead of "Web", you can upload the course as a SCORM package into Moodle. Running a Rise course within a LMS will enable student tracking and progress recording.

I'm not familiar with RACHEL (Remote Area Community Hotspot for Education and Learning).

  • Hi Karl,

Thanks so much for your insight! This is very helpful for us to know for our application.

RACHEL - allows us to use our learning tools offline. Which has benefits for rural areas without internet.
