Cannot Open 360 Degree Image Editor

Hello all,

This issue has been persisting since September 20. My project has a few slides that contain 360 images, and when I originally added them (a few months ago), everything works just as expected. I now need to make some changes with the marker in the 360 degree images, and I cannot open the 360-degree image editor to make those changes. SL stuck loading that editor with the "..." forever loading and the image greyed out. When I cannot wait anymore and close it out, SL prompted me to "Save changes" even though no changes have been made.
My images were kept in OneDrive (which I sync locally to my OneDrive), and I have tried downloading those images to the Download folder, and try replacing the old one, that solution does not work either.

Additionally, when I tried replacing the image with the exact same file, the image was not rendered corretly when I inserted it (even when the image was 2:1 aspect ratio). When I put the project in Preview, then the images render fine in that mode, but this was not the behavior that I am used to. A 16:9 aspect ratio image was inserted and it was not warped the same way in the edit mode (screenshot included).

I also have uninstalled SL and make all necessary updates. Can someone help? I attached the SL sample with my images.

Thank you so much!

The issue you are experiencing with the 360-degree image editor freezing is likely caused by file path corruption or sync conflicts from OneDrive, even if you copied the files locally afterward. Storyline tightly binds asset references within the project package, and cloud-sync interruptions can corrupt the internal pointers required to render the 360-degree environment. To fix this, move your entire project folder completely out of OneDrive into a local directory (such as C:\MyProjects), create a brand-new Storyline project file, and use Import to bring in your existing slides rather than opening the old file.

stephen41diaz, the thing is, my company maps the entire c:\Users folder of the computer to OneDrive.

That means the problem can really only be fixed at Articulate's end.

Also, why would that only affect 360 images, why only on September releases (but August releases can open the exact same Storyline file), and why both me and DorotaLangner simultaneously?

I was just about to report the same experience. I was trying to show a new developer how to incorporate 360 degree images into Storyline, and neither of us could actually enter one.

Downgrading to an August version of Storyline let us actually do our job. Might I gently suggest adding some 360 tasks to your test suite?

While I'm at it: why does Storyline now display the useless "configuring" dialog that lasts for several minutes when it starts up? The capture below is from an i7 13th Generation (Dell Precision 7680) laptop.

As a former software product manager, I'll tell you: this is something I would never, ever have let my devs get away with. Especially that weird clipping on the last line of text. And why is this a non-system dialog with the odd-looking Cancel button. What would Cancel do, anyway, cancel the launch of Storyline? Is that really something you meant to suggest to the user?

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I am glad I am not alone in this because I was unwell for the last couple of days 🙃

Downgrading to a SL Aug version is the (disappointing) solution.

I am so glad someone pointed me to this page. I intially thought it could be solved by moving all of the photos out of the network drives into the local folder, but that also did nothing. At this point is our only choice trying to step back some versions? This is a mess. I'm glad i am not the only one suffering :D
