Change Link (url) color
Hi. I need to brand the links in the Rise module. I have successfully been able to load our font and colors. The only issue I am having is changing the link color. Any suggestions?
Hi Everyone,
To change the color of the hyperlinks in your Rise courses, please use the following method.
- Select the link you have selected along with either the preceding or following space.
- Apply the desired color using the formatting toolbar button as you would any piece of text.

This workaround also does not work for us. Same situation as MattiasJahr. When hovering over a link, the only formatting options are to edit the link or remove the link. I can make the text the standard #0000ff blue and underlined, and as soon as I make it a link, it changes to a variation of a colour from the theme.
We should be able to define individual colours manually, e.g. links, headings. This way, the theme colour can apply to UI elements where accessibility is less of a concern (button background colours, dividers, etc.) but links can remain accessible. Our theme is orange, and it makes the links far too bright and inaccessible when automatically controlled.

Alisdair, can you confirm you're using Edge browser? I'm on Chrome and this workaround does work, I have a feeling its related to Edge, so some users experience the issue. thx

Same happening for me. Trying to make hyperlinks the standard blue then linking and the links are reverting back to the theme colour. Have tried Edge and Chrome, have tried including a space, have tried a new Rise project. This need fixing quickly. I'm doing updates to an existing module and I can't change the theme colour to something that will be accessible as a link colou r(very few of the Rise theme colours provide sufficient contrast for hyperlink text).

Hi Stephanie,
Here is what we do.
- Select the text to which you will be applying a link.
- Add underline/bold and change the colour to whatever it needs to be.
- Only then apply the link.
Both the link and the underline will reflect the color you selected.

Hi all - we were using this workaround to change the hyperlink colour, but today I realized that it did not work. The colour kept reverting to the theme colour, and not the colour we use for links. Has anyone else experienced this?

The method I described above is still working for me today.

Hi all,
I am very familiar with your method Karl, I used it a lot but for some reason it is not working for me anymore - it just reverts back to the theme colour.
Kelly, if you could help me figure out why this is happening, that would be great!
Many thanks both.

I also have this problem, and have tried the workaround both with and without a space preceding and/or following the text. Alas, it did not work. This is a problem, because the standard theme link colour is so bright blue that it is nearly impossible to read. We have to adhere to strict rules of universal design at my work place and this colour is anything but easy to read!
I'm using Edge, by the way. No other browsers are available to me, unfortunately. - JuditRdmCommunity Member
Hi people,
We have the same problem and it is an important one. As Rise doesn't have buttons or linkable image features, we where using tables with blue background and white texts. We can't anymore.
The design features in linkable elements were already a big problem in Rise, they have just increased. Not happy with this change of the product, currently desperated 🤯
Do you now any other way to include button-like interaction? I would like to know.

Hi Karl,
We are in business. It worked perfectly. Unfortunately, this means going back and manually updated the links, but at least we have a solution.
We are very grateful for your time today, Sir.- KarlMullerCommunity Member
Hi Stephanie,
Unfortunately, if you have already added a link to text, you cannot change the formatting. So you need to remove the link, apply the formatting, and then add the link back.
Hi Zina,
I tested this out and I'm able to change the hyperlink color to match the Theme. For instance, with the Theme set to purple, the hyperlink color reverts to purple as well.
Karl, are you able to make the hyperlink color different than the Theme? I'm happy to do some further testing on this!

I copied these steps from my post above (just tested and it still works(:
Here is what we do.
- Select the text to which you will be applying a link.
- Add underline/bold and change the colour to whatever it needs to be.
- Only then apply the link.
Both the link and the underline will reflect the color you selected as shown below:
Hi Zina,
Thanks for the update. Happy to jump in with a few questions!
- What browser are you currently using? Do you notice any difference when opening Rise 360 in a different browser?
- Is this happening in more than one course? If you haven't tested already, please try changing the link color in a brand new Rise 360 course.
We'd be happy to dig into this further with you with a support case. Feel free to share a link to your course so that our team can take a closer look.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi Luciana,
Thanks for your message - I will start a support case, but just to answer here too:
I am using Chrome, and it also did not work in a brand new Rise course nor in any other existing course. It also does not work when I tried in Edge.
Thanks again to all

FYI I'm using Chrome, fully updated

KarlMullerMay I ask if you can still use this workaround today? I received feedback from Articulate that this feature has been removed from Rise (apparently) but you said it was still working for you. Could you confirm?

I created a new text block with links today, and this method still works for me.
