"change state when timeline reaches" isn't working
I've suddenly been having an issue doing a very basic thing I've done many times before - I want the state of an object to change when the timeline reaches a certain point. I set up a slide trigger that specifies the object and point in time, but nothing happens. I've also tried using a cue point instead a point in time. I've tried using both built-in states and new ones I create, but I'm baffled.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks!
Hey JoAnne - Looks like you replied via e-mail and that does two things:
- Doesn't allow the attachment to come through
- Attaches your e-mail signature
Be sure to click 'View' in your e-mail to pop in the forums to share that attachment right in the reply box on the thread. You can remove your signature if needed by clicking ‘Edit’ beneath your previous response. Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help.

REPLYING TO CYNTHIA'S ORIGINAL POST: I am suddenly having the same issue. Not sure why.

Thanks for reaching out, Marvette!
Sorry to hear you're facing a similar snag. If you're comfortable sharing your file here, we'd be happy to investigate. Or, if you prefer to keep it private, you can use this link, and I'll delete it once done!

I have found that captions (bubbles w/ words) do not work w/ states. I needed to add text boxes to the states to have them change.

Thanks for reaching out, Vicki! Sorry to hear you're hitting a snag, and I'd love to help.
I created a sample of a caption changing its state when the timeline reaches 3 seconds and attached it for you to see.
If this isn't what you had in mind, can you give more details of what you're trying to achieve?
It would also be helpful to see what you have in your project so far. Feel free to use the Add Attachment button to share it here, or you can share it privately here.

Thanks Becca - I'm glad I'm wrong. I can't upload the project, but I tested this in a new project and see that it does work w/ time and cue points too. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong. Thanks!

Looking for resolution on a simple "change state when timeline reaches ..." that doesn't work post and I don't see one. Used to be a simple trigger. Can anyone share a simple resolution? Thank you!

The change state appears to only work when "previewing the slide." Tks!

Are you saying you have solved the problem, or that it doesn't work when it is published?

- L'Oreal Battistelli, MSIDT, thank you I have been driven demented for the last hour, when published it is fine in preview it is a mess - can this be rectified to save our sanity??????

I just confirmed this trigger works in both preview and published version. The state of an object changes when the timeline reaches a time or a cue point regardless. Could it be something else?

it works fine for the first one on preview and then it gets confused - it is the order, it won't let me change it on the triggers, that makes it an issue, it works when I publish
