Is it possible to change the "Incorrect/Correct" colors in a Rise quiz?

Hi:

I have a quiz in a Rise course and am using a custom color scheme (which happens to be red/hex #cc0000).  My issue is on the quiz, regardless of whether the learner answered correctly or incorrectly, the icon (both the "correct" check, and the "incorrect" X) that is displayed is red colored.  Is there a way to make the incorrect icon one color and the correct icon a different color?  Thanks!

  • Hello everyone, 🎉

I'm happy to let you know we released a new update for Rise 360, adding the new feature below:

    • Answer colors in quizzes can now be set independently of theme color.

There's nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available, though you might need to export your Rise 360 course again.

Let me know if you have any questions about this update!

  • Hi there, Judy! It sounds like having the ability to customize the colors used for correct and incorrect quiz answers would be really helpful for your team, especially because you're using a red custom theme color! I'd be happy to share that idea as a feature request. While that isn't on our roadmap right now, we'll let you know if we make any changes that will help.

  • Thank you, Alyssa; that would be great.  I think from a "visual learner's" perspective, seeing a color such as red for both incorrect and correct responses might lead to unnecessary confusion. Thanks again!

I agree, and my team is having an issue with it because the SL classes have green for correct and it doesn't line up with our Rise courses.

  • I just want to second this. This is a consistent comment/complaint that I get from our learners. It makes it very difficult for them to understand!

We need this!!!! Our Brand color is red as well and it drives my SMEs crazy.

  • Yes, this feature request has been open for 6 years now (it already appears in older discussions threads). The wrong color for correct/ incorrect is really disturbing for learners

Hi EricSantos, thank you for this reply!

It's great for quizzes, but it would be great as well, if the color could be changed in a single question within a lesson, as well. Is there soemthing planned for the near future?

Thanks Karl I was totally looking for that under 'style' instead of 'format' in regards to the new updated Matching ui.

That is a nice, long overdue, and welcome update. Unfortunately, it is only valid for separate Quiz modules. I wish you would allow the same flexibility for Knowledge Checks, which is what I use more often.

It is already possible to do this for Knowledge Check questions as well. You need to set the colors for each KC though as shown below:

      Hi ShawnConnelly-d,

Thanks for sharing that feedback. Karl is correct, this can already be customized for Knowledge Check questions as well, though the setting is configured individually within each Knowledge Check block rather than globally like quiz settings.

You can adjust the correct and incorrect answer colors from the block’s left-hand design toolbar under the Format options for each Knowledge Check. This article walks through where to find that formatting option:

Thanks as well to KarlMuller for jumping in with the screenshots and clarification!
