Changing States Based on Focus
I'm working on a Storyline project for North Carolina's Council on the Holocaust that will let users view the stories of Holocaust survivors who relocated to NC. I'm working on a slide that shows a state map and has markers on cities the survivors relocated to and have a state set up so that when the user hovers over the marker it changes color and displays the city's name in the lower left corner. Is there a way to create that same interaction for when the marker comes into focus for people who use keyboard navigation?
I'd probably ditch the hover state and make them click-based
I assume that if the marker is interactive (outside of the hover) you can put alt-text on the marker and describe it that way.
I misread this. Was thinking about the screen reader. :)

No worries. It's easy to conflate the two with the considerable overlap they have. I do have the alt text on there, so people using screen readers and keyboard navigation are covered, but I can't figure out how to make it work for those who can see but have fine motor disabilities.
