Creating a Real‑Estate‑Style Virtual Tour Using Insta360 X5 + Storyline — Has Anyone Done This?
Hi everyone,
I’m exploring a new approach for an eLearning project and wanted to tap into the community’s experience.
I’m trying to create a virtual tour similar to what you see in real estate listings — where learners can look around a space, click hotspots, and navigate room‑to‑room. I’m using an Insta360 X5 to capture the environment, and building the course in Articulate Storyline.
So far, I’ve learned that Storyline supports 360° images (equirectangular JPGs), and that I can reframe 360° video into standard MP4s for use in regular slides. But before I go too far down the rabbit hole, I’d love to hear from anyone who has actually created a virtual tour like this.
Have you ever built a real‑estate‑style tour in Storyline?
- What was your capture workflow?
- How did you process your 360 photos or videos?
- Did you run into any limitations with Storyline’s 360° image feature?
- Any tips for hotspot design, navigation, or performance?
I’m especially interested in hearing how you structured the project so the learner experience feels smooth and intuitive — similar to Zillow, Matterport, or CloudPano tours, but inside Storyline.
Thanks in advance for any insights or examples you’re willing to share!
