Cursor Automatically Appear in Text Entry

Hi everyone!

I have a text entry question that I want to automatically populate the cursor without clicking on it.  Is this possible?  The text entry input is at the top of my timeline, but I still have to click on it to enter the letter.  I want to be able to type the letter in when the timeline starts.

    Hi Lyndsie!

    Thanks so much for reaching out! 

    In order to accomplish this, you will need to have the Text Entry at the bottom of your timeline.

    Here are a few workarounds:

    • One workaround would be to send the Text Entry to the back of the slide so that it doesn't interfere with the other elements on your slide.
    • Another is to manually drag the Text Entry to the bottom of the Timeline. 

    Here is a quick peek where I walk through those workaround options.

      Hi Luciana!

      Thank you for your answer.  Since the TextEntry sits on top of a rectangle and I have a background image, if I put the TextEntry at the bottom of my timeline, the user wouldn't be able to click on it.  Here is one slide of my file.

    Hi Lyndsie!

    Thanks so much for sharing a sample of your project! It's helpful to understand your setup a bit more. 

    A workaround would be to have the learners click the TAB key after the slide loads. You'll want to be sure that the slide is set up with the TextEntry above the Background image and the Rectangle. Here's a quick look at the timeline:

    I don't want to interrupt your current design, but I did want to mention that having the cursor available at the start of the timeline isn't the most accessible approach for learners. I'm curious to hear what other community members have done as a workaround for a similar interaction!
