Curve line shape
Hi everybody,
I really often use bezier curves in my graphics. I never managed to control the curve line. The drawing process is unclear and there is no point edit mode.
I have been drawing them in external applications so far but would like to have it native in storyline.

Have a nice day

Draw in Illustrator.
Copy
Paste
Ungroup
and there it is a perfect line.
Like this.. only works on PC though. - MateuszSzuter-eCommunity Member
Everything connected to drawing lines needs major update. We can't "join" lines, we can't specify where the outline should be (inner, outer), thus making everything like flowcharts are needed to be done in another program and then you cannot edit it in Storyline. Not being able to draw single curve is just one part of the overall "lines" problem. Maybe we will see something in the future.

"Maybe we will see something in the future." is a terrifying sentence to read about a simple problem which hasn't been resolved in a decade.
Hi Dominique,
I went ahead and shared this as a feature request on your behalf, and you'll likely receive an email confirmation shortly. Always feel free to post those here in the forums in case other users have suggestions to share and then you can also submit it here to our product development team.

Hi Leslie,
My lines aren't blurry, just distorted. Here's an image of what's going on- the blue line is what it looks like before I click to end the line. The black line is what it looks like after ending the line. Perhaps I'm ending the line incorrectly?
I ended up creating the smooth curves I was looking for in ppt, but it's a bummer to pay so much for a software then have to do a simple task like a curved line, in another program. Thanks for the sample Nadia. I'm able to recreate what you are experiencing here and I'm going to share this with my team.
Sounds like you have a workaround in the meantime, but the scribble line feature is not distorting if you're good a free-handing your curve.

I agree with Nadia. The lines that the Curve tool draws are all over the place! Hope it will be fixed.

I have the exact same issue as Gerald, above. And everyone else in this 6-year-old thread.

Apologies for the poor Peek screencast.
I wasn't clever enough to have curves to base my tests on as Gerald has, but it gives an indicator of how wild it is to control and draw any type of curve. And then, the end result that suddenly pops into life is just... weird. In no way an accurate reflection of the curve drawn.

Why is this still happening?!

Do you live in an earthquake zone?
Your mouse is on a wobbly table?
Or maybe have some form of unfortunate tremens?
Or maybe that is the curve you actually really subconsciously wanted to draw.
it really is quite shockingly bad. It’s almost funny (the software - not your wonky drawing).

I think a option to go in and out of Adobe Illustrator would solve the issue !

At the moment, I just want to draw straight lines with sharp 90 degree corners that I can edit later. I need to create paths that like the ones in the attached image. As it is, it doesn't seem that I can edit a line after it's been drawn.
A fully functioning bezier tool would be amazing.
Of course, I could do the whole thing in illustrator, but then I don't have the option of editing the shapes within Storyline to make simple adjustments. All my adjustments would be made "blind" in the two separate apps, making my process 2 or 3x slower.
