Customizing Menu for Multiple Scenes

I have a course in multiple (4) languages. I created a starting scene which serves as a language selector screen, and each language is its own scene. Since it is all one project, the side menu shows all (5) (4 + starting scene) at the same time. Is there a way to only show the menu of the scene the viewer has chosen?

  • Storyline doesn't have way to adjust the built-in menu in a published course. You'd need to use JavaScript to do that. (Sorry, I can't help you with that. But if you search the community, you'll probably find related posts.)

Another option: Don't show the built-in menu. Instead, you could create custom menus. Of course, the ease or difficulty of doing that depends on how many slides need to be included.

Or, depending on the complexity of the course, as well the probability that users will want/need to jump around in the course, you could simply skip having a full menu.

By the way, both Storyline and Rise limit you to one language for the Text Labels (that is, the messages the system displays, such as the warning if you click the Submit button before selecting a response to a quiz question). Thus, whenever you combine multiple languages into one project, some folks could see information in a language they didn't choose.
