Do you know how to adjust speed of audio created by "Text to Speech"?
I am creating e-Learning course with Articulate Storyline, also I use "Text to Speech " fanction to create audio.
My boss asked me that it could be slow down the audio speed.
But I cannot find speed controler.
Can I change the speed of audio? If someone knows, please advise me.
Hi, everyone!
I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 83, we’ve included important fixes and new features!
One enhanced feature we’ve included:
Unlock new possibilities for text-to-speech audio. Use speech synthesis markup language (SSML) to adjust the speaking rate, modify pronunciation, emphasize words, add pauses, and more.
To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here!

I agree that the text to speech speed needs to be adjustable. We use the text to speech for our reviews before doing voiceover work but the speed is too fast. This creates the need to realign the slide elements once voice over work is done. If individual designers could select a speed (as others suggested 1-10) that closely matches their narration speed it would greatly improve this product and be a big time saver.
I see comments from over 4 years ago that this was being tracked and an idea for future improvement. Is there any update on when that could happen?
Hi Jonathan,
We don't have any new updates to share regarding this feature request, but you can check out which features are being worked on here in our feature roadmap. Here's a quick look at how feature requests are handled for your reference.

Is adjusting the overall speed of the text-to-speech audio possible now that neural text-to-speech audio is available in Storyline?
Hi Lori!
I'd be happy to share some insight on this!
We currently have a feature request logged for the ability to slow down/speed up the pace of text-to-speech voices. This feature is separate from the Neural Text-to-Speech feature we just released in Storyline 360 version 3.80.30988.0.
I'll go ahead and include your voice in the feature report, and will update this discussion if it makes it onto our Feature Roadmap!

+1 for the option to adjust text-to-speech generated audio speed.
Also, please add more human-like voice options - right now, seems only "Matthew" somewhat sounds human. We DO love Storyline's text-to-speech feature, which streamlines our course development process with the Closed Caption (a mandatory for us) capability as easy as a checkbox built into the workflow. (My team has used other text-to-speech tools that generate more natural human voices. However, Storyline's ability to do all of these at the same time is definitely a winner!)
Please make it better. Thanks!
Hi Mengqiao!
Thanks for reaching out and sharing the feedback!
I'll include your comments in the feature report our development team is currently tracking. We'll be sure to notify you as soon as we have updates to share!
Have a great rest of your week!

Add another request to adjust the speed in the text to speech function. It's a lifesaver in its current form but it simply too fast for most training assets I work in.

Hi Akiko,
Welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community! You can use punctuation, such as commas and semicolons, when you want to insert brief pauses. If you need longer pauses, you can open the built-in audio editor and insert silence where it's needed.
I hope this helps!

Hi Kelly,
Thank you for your help.
Is it possible to change the entire speaking speed?(like 0.75x speed) - MariaCSStaff
Hi, Akiko.
While not a current feature of Storyline, we have a request logged for the ability to slow down/speed up the pace of text-to-speech voices, and it's linked to this discussion.
We'll come back to update you when we have news to share.
Adding another +1 for the ability to control text-to-speech speed.
