Drag and Drop interactivity

By default, Storyline's drag-and-drop interaction does not return its objects to their initial location. I found a few discussions that should help you achieve what you're looking for (using motion paths):

• Try Again Button does not direct back to beginning of Slide. 
• Drag and Drop Solution - Sample with Multiple Correct Targets with drag off and return plus a lot more.

A second option is to use Reset to Initial state:

On your Try Again layer, change the trigger to Jump to this slide instead of hiding the layer when the user clicks the button:

The downside of this option is that it will create unlimited attempts. You can fix this by using variables. Here's a discussion with some tips on how to do this.
