Drag and drop w/ MC slide for partial credit review slide issues

So I have a drag and drop question in which I am doing the classic create a MC slide connected to a variable that is altered by the drag and drop items on the previous slide. The issue comes when I have a review option at the end from the results slide.

I want the student to be able to review both correct and incorrect answers but the "invisible" MC slide after the drag and drop that has a "show next slide when timeline starts" on it messes up the review. It shows for a split second and goes to the next slide in the review but when I try to go back to previous questions with the previous arrow, it goes to the MC slide which then forces to the next slide. Basically the "show next slide when timeline starts" is preventing the student from going backwards through the review. Does anyone have a solution to this? maybe a way to exclude a specific question slide from the review rather than just only showing incorrect answers?

Things tried/looked into:

unchecking in Quiz Settings removes it from the review and the test

Creating a Review Slide Layer will just cause a random slide to show up for no reason and comes off as shoddy in my opinion.

Thank you for your time!

  • Hi Articulate1SSi,

    Thanks for reaching out!

There isn't a built-in way to exclude specific question slides during a review, but one workaround is to use triggers to essentially skip over the questions during a review mode. Here's how:

    1. Create T/F variables for slides you'd like to pass over.
    2. Add "Adjust variables" and "Jump to slide"  triggers to the slide:

WIth the True/False variables changing values, you can utilize the "jump to slide" triggers to control which slides are passed over during review mode. I've attached a sample project file so you can see how everything works. In my example, the second question gets skipped during review mode.

I'll let other members of the community chime in in case they have a better solution they can share!
