email button not working on rise 360?

I have been adding in email links that work on my rise 360 course until today. Now when I start to edit the button, I type in my email address, and it disappears as soon as I click off of it and it displays a red "X". What do I do? See photo attachment. Thank you in advance for the help!

  • Hello everyone,

I'm happy to let you know we released a new update for Rise 360. This update fixes the issue you ran into where an interactive button with "Send an email" destination does not accept a valid email address. There's nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available.

Let me know if you have any questions about this update or the issue you reported!

    Hi Morgan,

The functionality to enter an email address appears to be broken right now.

  • Has this been resolved yet??? I am unable to finalise and publish a project while this functionality is not working.

  • Hi Everyone!

Sorry to hear you've encountered issues with the Button Block not working as expected when the destination is set to "send an email."

Our development team has logged this behavior as a software bug. I've linked this discussion to the bug report so you can be notified as soon as a fix is in place.

Thank you for your patience. I'm sorry if this has been slowing you down!

So, it seems the email option in the button block is still not working.  I found it DOES WORK in Safari -- but not in Chrome. DOES ANYONE HAVE A SOLUTION to this?  Thanks!

  • Hi ColleenMcKayWha,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I created a sample course and added a button block. When viewing the course in Chrome Version 132.0.6834.111, it works in preview mode and when published. Have you checked that your browser is up to date? You could also try clearing your browser cache to see if that makes a difference. If not, please let me know, and I'll be happy to troubleshoot further!

Hi Kelly -- Back again and will take you up on your offer --

Here's what's happening -- we THOUGHT it may be an OUTLOOK issue -- but now not certain.  Here are ae few things to consider"

      1 - I am on a Mac -- I have shut it down, re-booteed, etc -- no success.

2 - I am working in Chrome -- When I click the email link, I get the 'sad face' saying refused to connect to Outlook. But WEIRDLY:

3 - When I open the course in SAFARI - it works!  And then opens my Outlook mailbox on my CHROME browser. And works as it should.

SO -- should we be doing something in Chrome?  PS:  I have cleared all the cookies and browsing History. Also, Chrome is the most current version (Has been uninstalled AND re-installed) , and Mac is also the most current with plenty of memory. This is the course title" 5 Minutes to Help: An Intro to Substance Use Disorder, Treatment, and Resources for EMS".  --  How can I best give you access -- Or do you have any suggestions?  Happy to Zoom if helpful.

      THANK YOU!

Hi Kelly -- Checking in to see if you may have any other suggestions to fix this? Or should I just not use the email feature on the button blocks?  Thanks much -

        c.

  • Thank you for the suggestion -- i cleared the cache and re-created the email link in the button block, but I am still getting this:

(Is this an Outlook issue -- and not a Chrome issue?  (But I guess it wouldn't work in Safari then...??) I appreciate the troubleshoot offer! thank you...
