Error viewing SCORM from iPad

Hello,

I have a question about Storyline 3.

Did any of you have a problem watching scorm from iPad device?  When students log in from iPad, a blank window opens. But From android device it’s working good. Has it happened to anyone?

Thanks for the support,
Shlomy.

  • Hello Shlomy,

Sorry to hear that you ran into this snag. I'd like to ask a few questions to help clarify your experience:

    • Is your course hosted on a web server or an LMS?
    • If your course is hosted on an LMS, have you tried testing your course on a different LMS to see if the issue is specific to your hosting environment? Here's how you can test your course in SCORM Cloud to see if the issue is only happening to a specific LMS.
    • Is the behavior happening on multiple browsers, or just iPad specific browsers?

If you are hosting your courses on an LMS, and you are able to replicate the behavior in SCORM Cloud, would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can take a closer look at what's happening? We'll delete it when we're done testing!

Hello Joe, and thanks for your response.
I upload the file in the moodle type LMS system installed on a local server
(not in the cloud) version 3.2. (yes I know it's a bit old fashioned)
Our managers watch the video through an iPad, access to the LMS system in
our organization is through a connecting application called AIR WATCH,
which is actually a connection to the organization's network and there is a
default browser called WEB and not directly through an application.
Attach the SCORM file of the video.
      !Thanks again.
      Shlomi Ben

I am attaching a link to download SCORM

  • this connection from iPad to moodle seems a bit complicated

if there is a reverse proxy in the middle, the configuration of the proxy for IOS video playback is challenging

what happens with a course without video?

  • Hi Shlomy!

Just a heads up that replying via email includes your signature here so you are welcome to edit the post and remove that information if you wish.

    Hello,

I found this thread because we are having tons of clients writing that STORYLINE SCORMS do not work on Ipad, on any browser. They work perfectly on any other device we tested.

Behaviour is videos not playing, trigger buttons are not activable. Seems like a security issue or something.

    Any idea?

    Thanks!

      Hi Miro!

Sorry to hear videos and trigger buttons aren’t functioning when viewing Storyline courses on an iPad. I’d love to help you troubleshoot this!

I have a few follow-up questions in order to better understand your current setup:

      1. Are the courses hosted on your web server or an LMS?
      2. If an LMS, could you please share which LMS you are currently using?
      3. Lastly, which iOS version are your learners currently running on their iPads?

If you haven’t already, we’d recommend testing your courses in SCORM cloud to see if you get the same results.

Also, if you could share the .story file, that would help us greatly! You can use this private link. We’ll delete it from our system as soon as we’re finished!

Looking forward to hearing your feedback so we can investigate further!
