exit animation triggered by continue button

I have been beating my head against the screen (because I have no hair to pull out). I'm having trouble finding the right combination of keywords to search for the article I'm looking for. And I know I have seen it before.

I have two text boxes that I want to display when the 'Continue ' button is pressed. This is because the next slide has two text boxes flying in under it to take its place. However, when I click 'Continue to the next slide,' the objects fade out (which they are set to fly up), and the next animation (on the next slide) appears, creating a messy effect.

I am stuck, please help.  I have included the project; it is 2.2 to 2.3

  • You could use a Pause timeline trigger at a certain point in the timeline and then let your continue button just resume the timeline to trigger the jump to next slide when the timeline ends

  • Hello,

Since your Continue button is programmed to jump to the next slide, this may be happening instantly and you may not be giving your fly out animations a chance to work. I extended the timeline at the end a little bit and I also changed the trigger to "Jump to next slide when the timeline ends on this slide."  I think it is giving you the animation you want.  I have attached the file.

If this answers your question, please mark it solved. Otherwise, feel free to ask a follow-up question.

Thanks, I am not a big fan of continuing slides as this lets my learners watch youtube while the slides just move on. But in this case, i think it's a must.

That sounds like a smart way to keep them engaged and fix my issue. Thanks. I like it

  • AS you have a play button on the player pausing is going to be odd, I think it would have been much easier to use the morph transition and move the objects off slide on the target slide

  • And as you have the jump tigger you will not see the unpause as it will jump immediatly
