Export to XLIFF 2.0 File in Rise
Hi,
Is there a plan to update Rise to export XLIFF 2.0 files? My translation vendor will be requiring this version.
Thank you!
Nancy

Hello Marcel and Willem -
I would like to share my solution here but that would be considered self-promotion according to the forum rules. In the meantime Marcel, I did send a response to your message. If you didn't receive it, would you please check your spam folder or reach out to me via LinkedIn? Thank you!

Could you please share your solution with me as well?

Hi Thor,
I have sent you a private message. I would be intersted in hearing about your possible solution with this issue which is still not addressed.
Thanks

Hello Mo,
Nice to meet you! I haven't seen a message - would you mind reaching out to me via LinkedIn?

I would also like to see your solution if possible.

I am still failing to understand why we cannot have a Word Export similar to what we can export from Storyline (or even Excel, for that matter).
It would make so many people's lives so much easier...

So I've followed the steps to convert the file and upload to DeepL and got a translated file but I must be missing a step to get it back into Rise as it just sits there processing and never actually completes.

Sorry for getting your hopes up, apparently the Rise XLIFF structure is simply too warped to convert back to.
Hello Nathan! I understand your translated file is not uploading to your Rise course.
Are you importing it back to the same course it was exported from? I'm not familiar with the DeepL translating software, but did it translate any of the HTML tags from your exported XLIFF file?
If you still need help with importing your translation into Rise, I would suggest sharing your XLIFF files with our support engineers by opening a case here. They will be able to take a closer look and find out the possible cause of why it's getting stuck.

Sorry for the confusion. Apparently the offered workaround does not work with Rise XLIFFs since the structure is simply not like normal XLIFF files.
My fault, I hadn't tested properly. - AndersBrydeThorCommunity Member
Just wanted to pitch in, that we would also love to see XLIF 2.1 supported in Storyline since we also want to use DeepL for translation.

We are also struggling with this, I have 30 Rise modules to convert and we use DeepL. DeepL will only accept version 2.1 and Rise exports xliff in 1.2. There are many authoring programs already using 2.0, 2.1 etc. When will this be an option for us in Rise?

I'd also be interested in seeing XLIFF 2.0/2.1 export options. XLIFF 2.0 has been around for almost 10 years now.
I'm especially interested as DeepL only support XLIFF 2.1.
Cheers,

Same for us. Our company needs an update to 2.1 due to DeepL requirements. Are there any plans today for replacing your 15 year-old version?
Hi Tobias!
While XLIFF 2.0/2.1 support in Rise 360 isn't on the Roadmap yet, we're currently tracking requests for this feature. We'll keep this thread posted for any updates on this feature request.

Hi, is there any news on this?
In the forum there are not many recent threads about xliff but it is a very active topic for us at the moment.
Thx

Hi Nancy, Stephanie,
Our translation vendor told us that they will always be able to work with XLIFF 1.2 or 2.0 when we asked. However, as they have their own RISE account we now just send them the course for translation and tell them what languages we want. They take care of everything and simply send us back a fully translated course to our RISE account, including all the course assets (images / video, voice etc). I would drop the director an email if you are struggling nick.briggs@compass-translation.com
All the best
Peter

We are experiencing the same issues. Any resolution on this?
Hi Stephanie! Thanks for reaching out! I understand you're also having some trouble with needing XLIFF 2.0. Can you share who your translation vendor is with us by opening up a case here?
