Feedback Master Does Not Work

No! No! No! When I create a new question slide, the same corrupted feedback format is in all the feedback layers. This has been pared back to three feedback masters, a single slide, and a single freshly generated slide master that is completely blank. But still, when a question slide is added, the feedback layers look nothing like the only three feedback masters in the project.
Where is this bogus formatting coming from?
