File Gone after Recent Articulate 360 Update

Hi Everyone,

I updated to the most recent version of Articulate on 1/12/26. The next day, I opened a project file and was working in it, but when I tried to save it I got a message saying, "The project file is corrupted or invalid."

I almost lost my entire project! Luckily our IT team was able to save it.

But now I am wondering...did anyone else have this issue or a similar issue with the most recent update?

Any feedback, if you had an issue or you didn't, is appreciated. Thank you!

  • Hi Rebecca285,

Thanks for sharing this, and I’m really glad to hear your IT team was able to recover the project! I know how stressful it can be to see a corruption message, especially right after an update.

We haven’t seen a widespread issue tied specifically to the most recent Articulate 360 update, but anything involving a “corrupted or invalid” message is definitely worth investigating further. Opening a support case is the best next step, so our team can look more closely at what happened with your file and environment.

In the meantime, these two resources may be helpful:

    • This support article walks through options for recovering a corrupt Storyline project, including checking for auto-recovered or temporary files.
    • This community blog post outlines best practices to reduce the risk of file corruption or loss in the future, such as working locally, saving versioned copies, and using supported storage locations.

If you do reach out to Support, including details like where the file was stored, whether it was opened from a network or cloud location, will really help with the investigation.

Thanks again for flagging this here so others can compare notes, and we’re happy to help dig into this further through Support.
