Followed Directions to Open Recovered TMP File - Storyline Opens and Closes
A course I was working froze to the point of having to close SL through task manager. I save every 5 minutes. But for someone reason the version it now opens is missing 5 days of work. I saw a .tmp ...
Depending on the version of Windows you are using, you may not actually be changing the file extension from *.tmp to *.story directly from the desktop.
Use File Manager instead, and make sure that your view settings allow you to see the full filename and extension. Right-click the filename as if you were going to change the name, but change the *.tmp extension instead. That should work for you.
