I'd try substituting a different font for the company font and seeing if that worked. If it does, then you know there's a problem with the font itself. If it doesn't, then there's something else going on. Also, I think I've run into problems caused by your last example -- putting differently-fonted texts in the same text object. Using multiple text objects worked.
