Formatting issues with system transition

Suppose Resource A created the SL1/SL2 file. He fell sick. The story file was now opened by Resource B. Resource B now has to rework on the formatting because he had not created the file. Again, Resource C gets to work on the same file. She faces the same formatting issue. How can we avoid the formatting issues everytime the story file changes hands and systems?

  • Hello Priyanka and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

That certainly sounds frustrating. Let's see if I can help. How are you 'sharing' the file?

When working on an Articulate Storyline 2 project in a collaborative environment with other developers, use this workflow to avoid loss of resources, file corruption, and other erratic behavior that can occur due to network latency.

  • i work on local drive only. It does not help. Every time a different user opens the file, we face the same erratic behavior from storyline. All the formatting is gone. Can you help at the earliest?

  • Thank you for the additional details Priyanka - I've opened a support case on your behalf so that one of our support engineers could work directly with you to understand the issue you are seeing. You should be hearing from someone soon.

      Thanks Guys,

Looking forward to resolve this issue.

  • I understand.

Just a heads up - It looks like your email signature came through when you replied via email. You can remove that if needed by clicking ‘Edit’ beneath your response. Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help.

Has anyone found the fix here?  We are noticing the same thing.  I created a SL project in 360, shared it with a colleague, and some of the text was shifted.  It looks like it was limited to bulleted text.  Ideas?

  • Hi there, Logan. So sorry you and your team are seeing some formatting discrepancies.

While I don't have any extra insight to share from Priyanka's case, we're happy to help nail down the root! To help us dig deeper, could you let us know:

    • How are you sharing the Storyline project with your teammate?
    • What version of Storyline 360 are you using? To find this detail, click on the Help tab > About Storyline
    • Mind sharing the .story file with us? We'll try to replicate the behavior and share our findings with you!

    Hi Katie-

I am sharing the project via a network drive at work.  I save my project (locally), copy it to to the drive, and my colleague takes it from there.

We are both up to date on our SL360 version (we made sure of that).

I am submitting a case as I also have another issue that I'm trying to sort out.

    Thanks!

  • Hello,

Three years later... same problem here! Was there ever a cause discovered?

      Hello Training Team!

Sorry, you're running into this issue! This shouldn't be happening when sharing a Storyline 360 project, so I'd like our team of Support Engineers to work with you directly. Can you share your .story file with them privately in a support case? You're in good hands with our Support Engineers. They'll take a look and reply as soon as possible.
