Help with panel auto collapsing
Hello!
My colleague is creating a quiz in Storyline360 and is encountering an issue. In the screenshots above, you can see what the text box should look like and what it looks like after she leaves the program and comes back in to continue her work. The text box auto-shrinks, and the size cannot be edited. I will list below the things I have tried to fix this. Thank you in advance to any help resolving this matter.
1. Disable Auto-Resize for Text Boxes:
- Select the Text Box → Right-click → Format Shape
- Go to Text Box settings
- Change Text Autofit to Do Not Autofit
- Manually adjust the size of the text box as needed
2. Lock the Text Box Size
- Select the Text Box
- In the Size & Position panel, uncheck Autosize
- Manually set a fixed width and height
Hi anelson274!
Sorry to hear you and your team are experiencing erratic behavior with Text Boxes in Storyline!
I'd be happy to assist, and I have some follow-up questions to help us troubleshoot this better:
- Is your colleague working with locally stored .story files, or have they been moved to a network/shared drive at some point during the authoring process?
- Does importing the problematic course to a new, blank .story file correct the appearance of the Text Box?
- Has your colleague already tried repairing their Storyline installation?
If the issue persists, and you're comfortable sharing a copy of the file, feel free to upload that here in the discussion or privately through a support case.
We'll delete it from our system as soon as we're finished!
