Hide Comments Panel

Hello EL-Heroes,

is there a way to hide/disable the new comments panel/window/region in SL360 completely. I don't need it and it takes space...

Thank you :)

Moritz

    Hi Joe,

thank you for your quick response.

Probably undocking and pulling it away from the screen helps most in that case.

Nevertheless the best solution would have been if I could hide it completly somehow...

Thank you and have a god week,

    Moritz

Hi Moritz, I agree completely: this is not useful to me and takes up valuable space. It would be good if you could opt out by default.

I am also undocking it and moving to another screen for courses where there are no comments. I would rather have an option to hide it altogether so I don't have to keep repeating this to get more space to see Triggers

  • Hello Moritz,

    Happy to help!

You can click on the icon shown in the screenshot to hide the 'Comments' panel. Alternatively, the icon to the right of it undocks the panel so you can move it away from your field of vision if you are working on more than one screen.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to permanently hide this section. Undocking the comments panel and minimizing/collapsing are currently the only available options to control the visibility.

    Hope this helps!

  • Personally, I love the comments; but more flexibility with docking would be appreciated. I like the way that graphics programs like Photoshop and Inkscape handle this: a giant list of potential windows that you can toggle and dock at various places around the screen. I prefer to undock my timeline and triggers, and move them to second screens with spare real estate. I wish that the accessibility window was dockable, but that has already been submitted as a feature. Maybe they'll all get tied together in a grand interface overhaul. *fingers crossed

  • I am also undocking it and moving it off screen. +1 for the ability to turn off this feature completely.

I think user experience in Storyline would be improved by allowing a simple show/hide for each of the panels without needing to undock and pile them up out the way somewhere.
The vast majority of my time in Storyline is spent building and therefore have no need for the Comments Panel, we don't want the Ai panel and the others  are used at times, but not all of it.
