Hiding / Unhiding Layers
Hi all. I’m new to Articulate Storyline. I’m developing a presentation to instruct staff on phishing awareness. The base layer shows a screenshot of an email. I created nine additional layers each indicating a part of the email that is suspicious. The goal is to have the user review the screenshot, then click the mouse to show the additional layers, one at a time.
Since all these objects are on separate layers and need to hide/unhide sequentially onclick, can I hide one layer while unhiding the next all with one mouse click?
Also, is it possible to create a trigger that fires when the user clicks the mouse anywhere, not on a specific object?
I’ve attached the file here if you’d like to see what I mean. If there's a more efficient way to accomplish my goals, I'd love to hear. Thank you.
Hello Michael, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes. 😊
Thank you for reaching out to describe what you would like to accomplish with your project and for sharing a sample .story to work with.
What you would like to do is absolutely possible using a combination of triggers and variables. I'm not sure if you've used either, so I've included our tutorials here and updated your sample file for you to dissect and investigate.
Let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you Leslie. I'm familiar with both triggers and variables, but putting them together in this instance is a bit confounding. Thank you for updating the sample file. Reviewing a sample like this is how I learn best.
