How Can I Make Articulate AI Avatars Continue Natural Movements After They Finish Speaking?

Short answer: there's no idle-loop or tail-pause setting on Articulate's AI avatar. The generated clip ends when the script ends, so the freeze on the last frame is expected, not a bug.

Three things that help:

1. Give the avatar a closing beat. End the script with a natural closer ('Thanks - see you in the next lesson.') and a period, not a mid-thought cut. The model then renders a beat of mouth-closed footage instead of stopping on the final word.

2. Hold the last frame yourself. Download the generated video and extend the final frame by about a second in any editor (Clipchamp is free and fine for this). A deliberate hold reads as intentional; a hard stop reads as broken.

3. Don't cut the slide on the final word. In Storyline, run the slide timeline 1-2 seconds past the video end with a matching end card or a slow fade. The eye forgives a still avatar when the design around it keeps moving.
