How does one change the owner of a folder in Rise 360?
We have a team of seatholders and understand that content ownership can be changed so when a team member is about to leave, a new owner for their work can be chosen. How do you chose a new owner for a folder? I am anticipating that when team members who own folders leave, I will no longer be able to delete their folders. Thanks!
Hello martynbone1,
Thanks for reaching out!
The two types of content that a person on your team has are personal and shared content. The shared content is content that has been shared with other folks on your team. The personal content is a collection of unshared items, such as folders in a private directory.
You can transfer ownership of both the personal and the shared content when you remove a user from the team. You will want to be sure you transfer shared and personal content from this user so that another user on your team has access to all of their content.
If the person you transfer their content to has any questions, this article shares how to find transferred content.
Please let me know if you have any further questions!

Perhaps this makes my issue more clear: Person A works for me. I tell Person A to make a folder in the Team area (now they are the owner of that folder). My colleagues and I store company products in that folder. Eventually Person A leaves. Before they leave I ask Person A to make me the owner of everything that they made at my direction, including that folder. How does Person A make me the owner of their folder? Many thanks! :)
Hello martynbone1! Thank you for clarifying! My colleague, LucianaPiazza, is correct in sharing that you will need to transfer all of their content to someone to ensure that both the content they've created on their own and the content they've shared is transferred to another team member. This is also to make sure the content can still be edited since it will be in someone else's name. In short, it makes it so Person A doesn't have to assign you to each item they own. Transferring their content when removing them from the team will automatically assign their content to the person you choose to transfer their content to.
If you want to be their content owner, you'll want to enter your email when removing the user.

Thanks -- I tried it today and your advice was very helpful! Now Person A is removed from the team, all their courses are now owned by me, and all the folders they once owned are also now owned by me. I was misunderstanding when you said "content" it includes folders as well as courses and question banks. Thanks again!
