How to stop Storyline interaction starting again in Rise module

I have a Storyline as part of a Rise module that I am wanting learners to be able to leave and return to at the point they left it.

I have tried the always resume setting and the resume saved state but this has not worked. Is this possible?

    A Storyline block always resets when a user exits and returns to a Rise course. 

    The resume settings in Storyline are for when you publish a Storyline course for an LMS/LRS.
