Incorrect state appearing in preview
I have a menu screen with 7 buttons that change color depending on the state; 1. Disable (grey), 2. Normal (green), 3. Complete (green with checkmark).
Buttons become available once the previous section is complete. I have no triggers or variables set on this yet. I know how to do that.
Initial state of slide should show button 1. as normal with the rest disabled.
When I preview the slide button 1 is correct (normal) but buttons 2 - 7 all show as normal even though the initial state is set to disable.
Slide properties;
slide advances: by user
when revisiting: reset to initial state
I'm at a loss here because I've used this type of slide many times but I haven't had this issue before. Maybe I'm missing something that's staring me in the face. HELP!

You mentioned that buttons 2-7 have their Initial State set to Disabled. And that you haven't added other triggers yet to change states. Based on that, buttons 2-7 should be disabled when you preview the slide.
Yet, instead, you say they appear in the Normal state. That's "unexpected behavior." It could be that the buttons were somehow corrupted. So try this:
- Delete the buttons. Then create new ones.
- If that doesn't solve the problem, I suggest you contact support (https://access.articulate.com/support/contact ). When you do, upload a copy of the .story file. It only needs to contain the slide that has the problem.
By the way, it sounds like a custom menu slide, with the users clicking buttons to jump to sections. In that case, I think it would be better to set the Slide Properties to "Resume saved state." With that setting, when the user returns to the slide after completing a section, the buttons will be in the state they were in when the user left the slide.
Otherwise, with "Reset to Initial State," whenever the user returns to the slide, button 1 will reset to Normal, and buttons 2-7 will reset to Disabled.

Try changing the initial button state from ‘Normal’ to ‘Disabled,’ or create a new custom state for the initial view.
Example:- (Try not use normal state)
