Journals in Articulate
Hi Guys,
I'm developing a course for psychologists that at certain points, requires them to reflect upon their current practices. I want to provide them with free text fields throughout the course, which acts like a 'journal', to capture their thoughts to particular questions.
I then want to provide them with the ability to collate and export their responses, as a take-away at the end of the course.
Can this be done? For context, I'm using Rise to develop the bulk of the course but intend to insert Storyline blocks, where required.
Thanks in advance

Hi Glenn, we have built something like this for Rise using a Storyline block. The block is inserted in the Rise module where needed. We used SCORM 1.2 cmi.comments to store the data to ensure it could be delivered as SCORM 1.2 and not risk running out of data space. We also built in functionality to pull the data up so the user can view the notes. We don't have functionality to take those notes away at this stage, but there are JavaScript libraries that could convert the data to PDF.
You have to use JavaScript in order to achieve this as it cannot be done with Storyline functionality alone.
I can share our block with you if you would like.

Hi Sam, I need to do something very similar to what you've detailed here. In Rise, I also need a way to print or email all of the blocks together in one document which I don't know how to do at this point, but am researching. If you can share the SL block with me I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks! -Lynda
