Keyboard on quiz questions

Are there instructions available for how to navigate a quiz with the keyboard only? I found the instructions at this site - Storyline 360: How to Navigate Multiple Choice Questions with a Screen Reader or Keyboard - Articulate Support - but what it states does not always work. Specifically, I have a Try Again layer for when the question is answered incorrectly. When I close the layer and return to the quiz question, my incorrect answer stays selected. I have to select options on the slide with my mouse instead of using either the tab key or the arrow keys on my keyboard. I am attempting to make the questions as accessible as possible. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

  • Hi Donna!

It sounds like you hit a snag when navigating multiple-choice answers with a keyboard. I'd be happy to help with this!

Testing the behavior on my end (64-bit Storyline 360 version 3.84.31647.0 via Windows Parallels on a Mac M1) I was unable to reproduce the same issue. After triggering the 'Try Again' layer, I was able to successfully tab back to the answer list and make a different selection with the up/down arrow keys. Here's a quick screen recording of my results!

To clarify, were you viewing the course in Review 360, on an LMS, or elsewhere when you ran into this issue? If you're comfortable sharing the .story file, I'd be happy to take a closer look and test the functionality on my end. Feel free to upload it here in the discussion or privately through a support case.

We'll delete it from our system as soon as troubleshooting is finished!

I'll try to figure out what I was doing in the morning. I think I was on our LMS which may be an issue. I'll keep in touch about what I figure out. Thanks!

I have not been able to replicate the issue. If it happens again, I will let you know. Thank you!
