Menu in Topbar left - Slide Advances Instead of Drop Down
I've set our Menu to display on the player in the topbar left. After I published the course, I expected a drop down when I clicked "Menu" instead the slide advanced. And no matter what slide I am on, clicking Menu advances the slide. I can't figure out why. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jen
Hey Jennifer!
Well that's certainly frustrating and definitely not what we'd expect to happen. To try and nail down what's going on here, there are a few other details I'm curious about. Is this happening on a mobile device, or while viewing on your machine? If this is happening on your machine, are you testing the published file locally or uploading to the environment it's published for?
Would you be able to share your .story project file here so I can do some testing? You can add it as an attachment right to a comment in this thread. Thanks!
Hey Jennifer!
Thanks for the info but I'm not seeing an attachment here. It looks like you may be replying via email in which case any attachments won't be carried over to the thread and your signature will be included. You're welcome to pop in here and add the attachment. Also, you can edit your signature info out of your post if desired.
If you're testing locally, that may be why you're seeing this wonky behavior. I'd recommend uploading it to the environment that you're publishing for to see if it still happens there. If you're able to attach that file in the thread here, I'd also be happy to take a look. :)

Ok...I'll test it through the LMS then let you know the result. Hopefully, that is the issue!
Thanks,
Jen
Sounds great, Jennifer! Keep me posted :)

Hi Ali,
Sorry for the delay. I finally got our media dept. to upload this to the LMS and the menu is still functioning as a slide advance instead of a drop down. Can you look at it for us? How can I send the attachment privately for proprietary purposes?
Thanks,
Jen
Hey Jen!
Feel free to submit your course privately to our Support Engineers via this form and they'll be happy to take a closer look. Thanks! :)

I know this is an old thread, but I am wondering if there was a simple solution to this. I am having the same problem with my storyline file. It has been published to 360, and that is where it is advancing the slide instead of showing the transcript, which is the player tab.

Hi, Beth, and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! ✨
Since the original post was from four years ago, I took a look at their case, and the issue was related to a custom player used in the project.
I'd love to help troubleshoot your specific scenario. Would you feel comfortable either sharing your file here or privately through a support case?

Good news. It was a custom player issue for me too. We figured it out! Thank you so much for your offer of help.
