Require Visiting before Advancing

A lot of people have questions about navigation using custom (bespoke) menus.

Here is a sample that shows some different ways to control navigation, and the principles behind them. When you preview this, you can choose Restricted, or Free navigation, or a combination - Mixed.

Restricted requires the learner to progress through the course in a set order, then allows them to advance.

Mixed allows the learner to progress through the course in any order, but requires finishing all parts before they are allowed to advance.

Free allows the learner to progress through the course in any order, and to advance at any time.

At any time, you can change the navigation method.

  • Is there a way to restrict movement to the next level based on time? For example Lesson one is available immediately, but Learners cannot access Lesson two until Day 2. Or can Lesson advancement be locked until the Trainer releases it?
My immediate assumption is that Rise 360 does not offer a time-based Lesson advancement option and this would need to be accomplished using micro-courses that are provided each day by the trainer. But I would love to know if there is a way to make this happen.
    Thanks!

  • Sorry. The Articulate products are development, or authoring tools. What you are describing is delivery, or management functions. For that you need a delivery or management tool, like a learning management system (LMS). Explain it to your team lead this way:  Articulate is the publisher that prints books (designs lessons), but to get them to the bookstores (learners), you have to have a trucking company (delivery or management system).  You may have to pay both of them, but you can't expect a printer to carry books around. Likewise, you can't expect a development tool to deliver learning.
