Menu Tabs Missing After Latest Update
After updating Storyline today to the latest build, the menu tabs at the top of the screen have disappeared. The only three tabs visible are File, Slides, and Help (pictured in the attachments). The Home, Animation, Transitions and context-based tabs such as Format are missing.
There is no longer anywhere to add new content or adjust existing content. Is this intended in the new build? Is there somewhere else to access the tools that used to be available from the menu tabs? I've tried closing and reopening Articulate Storyline, but the tabs are still missing. Appreciate any help!
Rolling back to the previous build (April 29 version 3.99.34516.0) fixed the issue.

Update 100 worked fine for me. You may have just had a corrupt install. Might be worth another try

Thanks for the idea, Ron! I tried reinstalling the newest build as suggested in case it was a corrupt install. However the second install must have been corrupted too as it is still missing the Home, Animations, Design, Transitions, View tabs (etc.) I have rolled back to the previous build, and the tabs are back, so I'll stick with the previous build for now.
Please let us know if repairing Storyline 360 still doesn't do the trick, HeatherScott-b5!

Hi neeleysc, I have a few questions to help us troubleshoot:
- Are the menus missing for all projects? How about File -> New projects?
- Does the menu show up after opening a project and then go away at some point (like after using Preview)?
- Are you using a Virtual Machine (if so, are you on a Mac)?
Hi HeatherScott-b5 neeleysc RyanBoldan-efdb, my colleague and I have been looking into this behavior and we have a workaround you can try while we continue investigating:
1. Exit Storyline entirely and freshly re-launch it from the Desktop App.2. From the start screen, click on "New Project" rather than opening an existing project. (The full set of menu options should now be present).
3. Now click on the File menu and select your project from the Recent Projects area.
4. You should now have all of the menus available.

VanessaFage Wow - thank you so much! That worked perfectly!!!
RyanBoldan-efdb Excellent, I'm glad to hear it!

That worked! Going through New Project > File > Open Recent Projects opened the project with the tabs showing. Thank you for your help, Vanessa!
HeatherScott-b5 Wonderful, I'm glad that helped you!

Just chiming in that I encountered this exact issue today -- all menu tabs missing except File, Slides, and Help. It's happening with one specific course, including older versions of that same course. I worked on the course yesterday with no problems -- the issue just appeared today.
I randomly tested a few other, different course files this morning and they didn't have the menu problem. I also updated Windows and restarted my computer, but that didn't help the problem.
The workaround Vanessa provided worked so I can carry on for now, but I just wanted to make the Articulate team aware that the issue is still happening.

I have experienced tabs missing at different times after installing the latest update:
- Opening a new project only had a few tabs and many tabs were missing.
- While working through the accessibility checker, I can click the link on something that has an accessibility warning. That opens the appropriate slide and selects the item that needs adjusting. But sometimes, the Format Tab does not appear even though the item is selected. I have to select a different item on the slide to make the Format tab appear and then go back and re-select the initial item and now the Format Tab stays visible. This actually may not happen consistently.
Multiple attempts may make the Tabs appear, such as closing the new project and starting a new, new project, or selecting something else and then re-selecting the initial item. In other words, I am not totally prevented from doing what I am trying to do, however, sometimes the Tabs I need are not there initially.

+1 about the Format tab not always appearing when it should (and having to click something else then re-clicking the original item to get it to appear). I've never had this issue until recently.
Hi, everyone!
I have some great news to share! We just released a new version of Storyline 360 (Update 101), which included a fix that affected the visibility of menu tabs while editing a project.
To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find step-by-step instructions here.
