Modify Data Communication Frequency (Rise)
We have a client course (developed in Rise as AICC) where they're reporting it is recording and sending data very frequently, in substantial amounts. We believe this is causing communication issues between the device and the LMS, due to the high bandwidth being used, which is resulting in progress not being recorded. We're looking at ways to either reduce the amount of data being passed back to the LMS, or how to slow the number of occurrences down. I have listed our questions below.
- Within Rise, what triggers these updates?
- Is it only on a timed basis, or will interact with items in the course cause these updates to be triggered as well?
- Is it possible to prevent interactive pieces like videos or quizzes from sending progress updates, and instead only use the timed updates?
They had other courses developed using Storyline that does not have these same issues. Are there any differences between how Rise and Storyline communicate with the LMS and record data?

Hi,
"Rise 360 courses exported using SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, or AICC will communicate with the LMS every 60 seconds, as well as when you navigate to each new lesson."
