Moodle LMS problem

A customer is using Moodle and was having trouble with the quiz. If they redid the quiz after failing and then passed Moodle didn't record the new score. They have now modified Moodle with the following...

Attempts management: Force new attempt = When previous attempt completed, passed or failed

This has rectified the problem but now say that if a trainee exits the course before doing the quiz it doesn't allow them to resume where they left off and they have to restart the course. If I load it to a website and not an LMS it allows you to resume as normal.

Can anyone help?

Tony

  • Hi, Tony.

    Thank you for reaching out!

While it sounds like this could be specific to Moodle's settings, it would be interesting to test it in another LMS environment, such as SCORM Cloud. Check out this step-by-step article!

If your course works as expected in SCORM Cloud, I would advise you to reach out to Moodle for more information on how to allow for the additional attempts to be recorded while still giving users the ability to resume the course. You're probably familiar with this, but Moodle has a very active community that would be helpful when trying to troubleshoot this specific scenario.

If you still see the same behavior in SCORM Cloud, my recommendation would be to open a support case here, so we can take a closer look at your settings.

Let me know if this works!

  • Sorry - but late in the reply here but this is how I would have mine set for that situation.  Sounds like it was the number of attempts maybe they had limited.
