Need to mark course complete even if the learner failed test
Hello Great People,
I have a small problem and need your support.
I have a Quiz only course. It's an assessment with 10 questions. Now I want to mark the course "completed" irrespective of the test taker Passed or Failed the assessment.
Currently, if the test taker passes, the course is getting marked as "Passed" and the LMS shows 100% completed.
But, if the test taker fails, the course shows "Failed" but the course tracker remains at 0% completed.
Can anyone help, please?
Hi Ravi!
It sounds like you're tracking the course based on the quiz result, is that right?
Instead, could you track based on the number of slides viewed? When the learner reaches the last slide, they'll complete the course no matter the score they received on the quiz.

Here is what I would like to pass to the LMS:
If the learner passes at 80% or above, I would like the results to be Passed & Complete.
If the learner does not pass at =<79%, I would like the results to be Failed & Complete.
How is this accomplished in Storyline 360?
Hi Sandra!
This article breaks down how to report completion status and success status to an LMS. Learning Management Systems use:
- Passed/Incomplete
- Passed/Failed
- Completed/Incomplete
- Completed/Failed
I'd recommend reaching out to your LMS to see which completion and success status they recommend.

Hello! I have tried all four options shown above. I even have the settings set to "4th Addition." All of the tests remain on the user's transcript as active, (not completed.) Even on the results pages (for Failure,) the only options are "Completed/Passed" or "Incomplete/Failed." If the user passes the test it is moved to "Completed." I have spoken to my LMS, they said the SCORM is not set up to "Complete" if the user Fails. The LMS is doing exactly what the SCORM is telling it to. I can't be the only one having this problem. Is there a way to "Complete" a failed test?
Hi George!
Happy to help!
Have you tried tracking your learner based on the number of slides viewed? When the learner reaches the last slide, a completion status should be recorded, regardless of the score they received on the quiz.
Also, a helpful way to ensure the SCORM package is working as intended is by testing your SCORM content with SCORM Cloud. If the completion status is reported as expected in SCORM Cloud, issues you observe through your LMS are likely specific to the LMS that's being used.
However, if the course fails to report the correct status in SCORM Cloud, it would be helpful to have a closer look at the .story file and test it on our end. Feel free to attach a copy here in the discussion or privately through a support case.

I did try it in SCORM Cloud and it says completed. However, it does not complete on the users transcript in our LMS. I don't know how I would test for that. Below is the results of the test in SCORM Cloud:
