Poor image quality when uploading an image with Rise
Hello,
I created and saved-for-web a .png image in Photoshop. When I uploaded it with Rise (as a centered image in my blocks-lesson), it converted it with poor quality. Is it possible to avoid those artifacts? Looks not so good when a course is viewed on PC screen.
Thank you!
Hi everyone!
Do you have an image that looks blurry in Rise 360? We've designed a workaround to keep your images looking crystal clear.
If you'd like an image to keep its specific file format and not undergo compression, you can opt-out of image optimization on a case-by-case basis. Add _NOPROCESS_ to the name of your image file. It'll upload and display exactly as you saved it. Keep in mind that the 5GB file size limit still applies, and you could see an increase in your output file size.

It's 2022, and I'm facing the same issue. Please see attachment. Left is the image I uploaded to Rise. Right is what the image looks like in Rise.
[image removed, but left image was crisp, right was like a heavily compressed JPEG. Blurry with artifacts everywhere.]

There should be an option for this, similar to Storyline where we can set the compression, or turn it off altogether.
I just went to the published file and replaced it there. But this is not a real solution.

That _NOPROCESS_ workaround is not working for some image files today. The files look great before uploading and are set to be square to match where they will go in Rise. Tried several formats including tiff, png, gif. Have logged a request. A proper fix for this is required to avoid this being an ongoing issue.

Hi Irina, would it be possible for you to share the original source image. We'll take a look into what is going on with the quality. Sorry for the trouble.

Dear Mike,
Thank you very much!

Dear Mike,
This was for example one of the PNG images (I blurred the non-public content, but the text had in itself enough artifacts). The thing is that when I save JPG in photoshop - text it works perfectly fine, so there should not be any problems with JPG as well, if image quality is not processed from Articulate side.
Thank you very much!
Hi Irina,
What type of lesson or block are you inserting this image into? I looked at the image you shared a couple months ago and saw what you're describing, (screenshot comparison here) so I'll share this with the team to have them take a look at what may be happening.
Thanks for sharing both these images.

Dear Ashley,
I am using Rise blocks lesson and I use Image Centered element. My browser is Chrome Version 60.0.3112.113 .
Thank you very much!
Thanks Irina - that's helpful and matched the test I did. 🙂
I'll keep you posted once I have additional information from our team. Thanks for sharing, and I'm sorry it's causing you any problems!
