Hi Eric,
I'm excited for a tool like this. The facial change options for characters are cool. That, paired with the ability to outright change the image of each node, can likely enable some good narrative training.
In the full-screen character mode, the font size of the text seemed abnormally small to me relative to the picture and interface. There's a lot of real estate given to the character portrait, so maybe it can share for some simple zoom controls?
Elsewhere in the thread, you confirm the long-term plan to integrate the new scenario block into Rise. You also offer that the new scenario builder can be more a prototype to something built in a more complex tool, but are there any long term plans to expand the functionality of the new scenario builder? New nodes, maybe some visual effects, or different kinds of interaction?
Thanks for the kind words, AndrewBlemings-, and for the detailed feedback! Glad the facial expression changes and per-node image swapping are landing well, that combination really does open up more nuanced narrative training.
On the font size in full-screen character mode, thanks for flagging this. Is the core issue mainly that the text itself is hard to read at that size, or is it more that you'd want more control over how much space the portrait takes up versus the text?
On long-term plans for the Scenario builder itself, I don't have anything specific I can share on that front right now, but it's a good question, and I appreciate you thinking about where this could go next.
- AndrewBlemings-Community Member
Personally, both. The font size isn't the easiest to read to me. I know some interfaces have sliders or toggles, but the one size just seems restrictive.
I'm also not the biggest fan of the size of the pictures. In this example below, the character takes up more than 50% of the screen:
And I guess I'm just not sure why. The images are a nice enhancement to the scenario, but at the moment they're not essential information so giving them the most space in the hierarchy seems counterintuitive, especially for projects where the image might not change from node to node. I think I see a lot of unused space in the above picture (ignoring the message text box) and would like more focus on the words.
Or at least the ability to change it. I can imagine node-specific settings that set one image to 60% of the screen but maybe only 30% to another image, depending on the context. A screenshot at 60% versus a quick "this is who you're speaking to now" 25% heads-up.

While the new features are great, there really is no point in using them as they don't integrate into Rise. I have played with the new features and while they are cool, there is no point in wasting my time using them if they are just standalone features.
Everyone rushing to get AI out there before their competitors and all it is doing is p-ing people off because you are offering a teaser, not a full integrated product.
Let me know when it is fully integrated and then I will use it again, until then, "Good job Team! Your AI features work."
Thanks for taking the time to share this, GeezLouise, direct feedback like this is genuinely useful to us, even when it's not flattering.
You're not wrong that a set of new formats feeling more like a teaser than a finished product isn't the outcome we want for you. As mentioned above to others raising the same thing, bringing these formats into Rise courses is something the team is actively planning, it's just not there yet, and I understand that's cold comfort when you need it working now rather than later.

I was just testing the new interactive video feature. Is there a way to replace the video and upload a new file? I didn't see the option. I am not sure if I'm overlooking it or if it doesn't exist. There are several times we have to replace videos after a course was published. Sometimes it's an error someone didn't catch during review; sometimes it's because of a process change. There are several instances I can think of where an updated video would not change my checkpoint questions. If you can't upload a new version of the videos, I am less likely to use this feature and will continue to use Storyline for this type of interaction, which is too bad because the Rise version was initially easier to create and set up.
I also want to echo everyone else's comments about wishing these new formats could be used in courses. These features can do some pretty neat things, but they'd be more useful if we had more flexibility with how to use them.
Thanks for laying out your use case here, KaylynMilan, that's really helpful context.
There isn't a way to replace or re-upload the video in an existing Interactive Video today. Once it's generated, the source video is fixed, so a swap like the one you're describing isn't something you can do from within the interactive video itself.
I hear you on the impact this has, needing to update a video after an error slips through review, or after a process change, is a real and common need, especially at the scale you're describing. Since your checkpoints often wouldn't need to change with a video update, having to rebuild the whole thing just to fix the source video is a significant amount of extra work.
I don't have a workaround to offer here, unfortunately, at this time a video update means starting a new Interactive Video from scratch with the corrected source.
On adding these formats into existing courses, you're echoing a lot of what others have said in this thread, and as mentioned above, that's something the team is actively planning to bring to both Interactive Video and Scenario.
- JoshHayesCommunity Member
I echo the point about needing the ability to simply replace a video rather than start from scratch. We used interactive video for the first time last week, and we've already needed to update one because of a misspelling on a slide provided by the SME. The video length hasn't changed, so having to rebuild the entire interaction for a minor video update creates a poor user experience and makes interactive video impractical for us.

AI guide comments:
- Can you allow us toswitch off the step numbers
- Can you allow us to add/embed YouTube videos
- Can you allow us to change the icon size in notes panels
- Fix the zoom image option, it zooms even though it is not checked
- Can you allow us to add coloured filled rectangles (image annotations)
- Don't remove the annotations when you replace the image
- Add align tool to annotation so can align objects
- After adding image annotation text object and saving and returning can no longer select and edit
- Also cannot adjust text size
Annotation tool needs to be added to all Rise content types.
Thanks for this thorough list, HVfb0f498d-053b!
Good news on one of these, embedding YouTube videos is actually already supported. When adding media to a step, choose Embed from web from the media options in our Generating a Guide article, that lets you embed videos and other objects hosted online.
On switching off step numbers and adjusting the notes-panel icon size, neither exists today, but both are reasonable to have on record.
On adding colored fill rectangles for annotations, you can already add boxes as part of the Annotate feature, so this is closer than a blank slate. Out of curiosity, are the current boxes missing a fill-color option specifically, or is there something else about them that's not meeting what you need?
On the zoom option triggering even when it's unchecked, this matches a known issue we're tracking, the checkbox can show unchecked while the image still zooms. I'm working on confirming this applies the same way in your specific setup before I give you a firm answer, so I don't want to promise anything yet, but wanted to let you know this isn't just you.
On not being able to select or edit annotation text after saving and returning, and not being able to adjust its size, this is also a known, tracked issue right now, once an annotation is committed, there's currently no way to edit or remove it without starting over on that image. I don't have a fix timeline to share, but this is a confirmed gap, not something you're missing.
On annotations disappearing when you replace the image, I want to check whether that's intentional or something that should carry over, so I don't have an answer yet, but I'll follow up here once I know more.
On an align tool for annotations, and extending the annotation tool to all Rise content types, neither exists today. Both make sense given how much you're already relying on annotation in your workflow.

- Will you be adding the ability to add AI audio into Training Decks?
- A range of icons to choose from for certain slide types would be useful?
- Naming the left thumbnails would help users know what slide types are in use
- HVfb0f498d-053bCommunity Member
- On statement slides if you add too much text it turns into a scroller but when previewing this text is not displayed, need some sort of warning or character count to advise editors
- Be good if there was a 'AI convert slide to' option to make it into different slide type
- Need to be able to annotate images like with AI guides
- On title slides, need to be able to select a different colour overlay (limited to black)
- Include a setting for margins, so the slides can take a bit more content e.g. Margins normal / narrow, like in Microsoft Word
Switching over to your Training Deck questions, HVfb0f498d-053b. Good news on one of these! AI audio is actually already supported per slide, per our Generating a Training Deck guide, just click the mic icon next to Audio. This opens the Course media window, where you can add AI audio, record your voice, or upload a file from your computer.
On expanding the icon options for certain slide types and adding the ability to name the left-sidebar thumbnails, neither of those exist today. Both make sense though, more icon variety would help match branding or content type more precisely, and named thumbnails would make it much easier to navigate a longer deck at a glance instead of relying on visual scanning alone.
Out of curiosity, for the icons, are you looking to match a specific brand style, or more just wanting variety beyond what's currently offered? And for the thumbnails, is this mainly about navigating decks with a lot of slides, or something else you're running into?
Thanks for your patience working through all of this!

The icons are fairly small so only need to be simply styled. We don't have a specific brand, just black coloured icon or white coloured icon on purple/magenta coloured filled shapes.
PS there is no AI audio option showing:

- Is it possible to use/embed an interactive video inside a Rise course? I've published to Review 360 but it doesn't show up when I insert a Storyline block and browse.
- Can the date in the header be removed, edited or the colour changed? Grey text on a purple background is unreadable.
- Can the lesson preview top heading be switched on/off?
Hi HVfb0f498d-053b, following up on this one.
On the lesson preview top heading toggle, I can confirm there isn't a Hide Lesson Headers option for Interactive Video today. Under Theme > Header, the only controls available are Image and Layouts, no toggle to remove the heading entirely.
Out of curiosity, what's driving the want to hide it, are you going for more consistency across the different formats you're using, wanting more screen space for the content itself, or something else? That context would help us understand what you're actually trying to achieve.
Hi HVfb0f498d-053b, thanks for laying all this out!
On embedding an Interactive Video in a Rise course, that's why it's not showing up when you browse via the Storyline block, that browse feature is specifically built to pull in published Storyline projects through Review 360, not Interactive Video content. Right now, Interactive Video is still a standalone format that can't be embedded in a Rise course, same limitation others have flagged above.
On the header, you're right, that's not just a preference thing, that's a real contrast problem. This is a known issue on our end tied to Interactive Video's header theming, and it's being tracked. I don't have a fix timeline to share, but wanted to confirm you're not missing a setting somewhere, this one's on us.
On the lesson preview top heading toggle, I don't have a confirmed answer for you on whether that's adjustable for Interactive Video specifically. Let me look into that further and follow up here.

One of my colleagues has created an AI Avatar video inside a custom block. Is it possible to reuse the same video inside another block e.g. a Multimedia > Video block.
Also can you add a transcript button so users can see the entire script in one hit.
Hi HVfb0f498d-053b,
Happy to help with both of these!
On reusing the AI Avatar video, there isn't a direct way to copy it straight into another block type, but your colleague can get there in a couple of extra steps. From the custom block, click play on the avatar video, then click the Download icon that appears in the lower-right corner (more detail here). Once downloaded, that video file can be uploaded into a Multimedia > Video block like any other video.
On the transcript button, that's a fair ask, being able to scan the full script at once instead of following along in real time would genuinely make reviewing content faster. That's not something we have today. AI Avatar videos currently only offer auto-generated closed captions synced to playback, with no standalone full-text view. Out of curiosity, are you picturing this more for reviewing/editing the script while building the course, or as something learners could access while watching the finished video?
- HVfb0f498d-053bCommunity Member
The transcript serves both the purposes you mention, for the author and the learners. I'll copy and paste the script text into an accordion block and place underneath.

Question regarding the new Guides feature: I've imported a video and made a guide, and I have about 40 more videos I need to import and turn into more Guides. Then I need all of those guides to live inside of ONE Rise course link....Does this functionality exist? I couldn't find a way to move a guide into a Rise course, and didn't see any way to copy the Guide features like you would by creating a block template.
Great question, JenniferSweeney, and thanks for sharing the scale of what you're working on, that's helpful context!
Right now, Guides are built as their own standalone piece of content rather than something you can drop into an existing Rise course as a block, so there isn't a way to move a Guide into a Rise course or combine multiple Guides under one course link today. That also means there isn't a block-template-style option for reusing Guide settings across your 40 videos the way you might expect from Rise blocks.
I know that's a significant limitation given what you're trying to build, consolidating dozens of Guides under one course link is a substantial workflow. This isn't available yet, but it's something the team is actively planning to make possible.
In the meantime, if you need everything under one shareable link today, building this out in a Rise course using existing blocks (like the Video block) would be the workaround, though I know that doesn't give you the Guide-specific experience you're going for.
Appreciate you laying out your use case in detail, it helps to have that context!

I think making interactive videos and guides into blocks within Rise would be huge - probably should be at the top of the list for updates.

Hey there! I love the new AI Interactive Video feature. Is there a way to lock the seekbar to prevent a user from skipping all touchpoints and knowledge checks? I see that there is a way to "require interaction" which only seems to work when watching the video in its entirety.
Hi MatthewWeeden,
I wanted to follow up on my earlier reply, because I need to correct something. After checking with our team, what you described isn’t a malfunction in the seekbar. Right now, Interactive Video doesn’t have a setting to restrict forward seeking, and “Required interactions” only applies when a learner actually reaches a checkpoint, so they can skip past one by clicking or dragging the seekbar. I’m sorry for the confusion my earlier wording caused.
It sounds like you’d like to be sure learners can’t skip past checkpoints and knowledge checks before moving on. I don’t have a workaround or a timeline to share at the moment, but I wanted you to have the accurate picture.
Feel free to reply here if anything else comes up.
Thanks for flagging this, MatthewWeeden , and glad you're finding Interactive Video useful otherwise!
What you're describing lines up with a known issue on our end. The seekbar restriction tied to "Required interactions" isn't fully enforced right now, so dragging the seekbar forward can bypass a checkpoint even when that setting is turned on. This isn't expected behavior, and it's being tracked.
I don't have a workaround to offer at the moment, but I wanted to be upfront rather than leave you guessing.
Appreciate you taking the time to report it!

We have 3 Articulate licences (team members). Is there a way we can all see how many credits we have consumed? with the admin seeing them for all accounts?
Also, what is this account which has appeared: Omniplex Articulate Purchases, ([email protected])
Hi HVfb0f498d-053b,
Great question, and glad you're thinking ahead here!
Right now, credit balance and usage visibility is an admin-only view. Admins can see the full balance and transaction history in Account Management, so if one of your three teammates is set up as an admin on the subscription, they'd be the one with that centralized visibility across the team. Individual seat holders can see when a specific action is about to use credits, but they don't get a running balance or usage history themselves. You can see more on how this works on our pricing page.
If you want tighter control beyond just visibility, admins can also set monthly spending limits at the group level, so that's worth exploring if you want to manage how credits get used across your three seats.
On the second part of your message, about the "Omniplex Articulate Purchases" account, that's an account-specific question I'd want our Support team to look into directly rather than guess at here. If you haven't already, reaching out to Support with your account details would be the fastest way to get clarity on that.
Let us know if anything else comes up!
