Quiz questions attempts locked at 1
Hey guys....I'm building a quiz in Storyline 2 and the format of the quiz requires that the questions don't need to be answered in any particular order and you can freely navigate, but once you submit your final answers, the quiz is locked. That part I have, but my problem arises when someone wants to go back to a previous question to check their answer, and cant pick a new one because the question is locked down. This wouldnt be a problem if I could set the attempts to unlimited (once you go to the results slide you can't go back so unlimited attempts isn't a problem) but the drop down menu is grayed out and unclickable in 70% of the questions, so I can't change it. Anyone else see this problem?

It depends - are you looking to have the user review the course using the built in "review" button? If so, than you'd want to use "resume saved state" otherwise when the user revisits them it'll look as if they never answered and then be marked as incorrect.

Hi Ashley,
It's been a while. Hope you're doing well. Hey, looking for your / the opinion of the experts there on a related issue (assessment question feedback).
The eLearning courses that my team and I have been developing provide detailed feedback (Correct / Incorrect and a brief blurb about the concept covered) after every progress review (aka, "Check Your Understanding") question in our courses, but NOT for final assessment questions at the end of the courses.
We went back and forth on this premise a few years ago and, for a variety of reasons, came to the decision that we'd just have learners answer each final assessment question and then be immediately brought to the next question (sans feedback). After the last question of the assessment, we provide a total score and let learners know if they've passed or not. If they pass, they can move forward to the final page(s) of the course. If not, they are given the opportunity to retake the assessment as many times as needed until they do.
We've been noticing a trend in our course evaluation comments lately that folks would at least like to know whether they are getting each assessment question right or wrong as they answer them. In other words, they're not asking for "feedback" per say after every final assessment question, rather just to know - in real time - if they got the question that they just answered right or wrong, rather than waiting [with bated breath] for a final score at the end.
I'm proposing that we simply start telling them "Correct" or "Incorrect" after each final assessment question. That way, they at least know what they got right or wrong immediately and where they stand as they move through the assessment. It certainly seems logical and we're prepared to make that change, but before we do, we just want to know what other IDs and organizations are doing re this.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts.
Hi Corey,
Nice to see you again - I'll defer to the IDs in the community - but I'd say most courses I see include an immediate feedback.

Thanks, Ashley. That's actually helpful in itself. Hopefully we'll get some comments from a few other developers as well.
Happy to be of help - even in a small way. :-)
Hi Corey!
This is an issue that our QA Team is aware of and working on. I will add this thread for their awareness, but I have no timeline to provide.
Workarounds:
Disable seekbar, or make seekbar read only- CoreyKleinCommunity Member
Thanks for your quick response, Leslie. Hopefully the team is able to
come up with a solution in the near future. In the meantime, let me understand the workarounds you presented. If I
disable the seekbar or make it read only, then once the video is launched,
the learner cannot pause or control it at all. They just have to watch it
straight thru. Do I have that right? (Some of our video clips are
actually pretty long, so I'm hesitant about that option). Also, if I build controls into the video themselves (outside of Articulate
Storyline), I'm assuming that if they end up using those, the Storyline
text animation will again to be out of sync if they pause, rewind, or FF
the video. You agree? Thanks, Leslie, and I look forward to your further comments / advice,
Corey Klein
Your hesitations are absolutely accurate Corey. Perhaps someone in the community has found a more creative way to handle this.

Thanks for the confirm, Leslie. I'm open to suggestions. Please let me know if you hear anything.

Corey
Of course Corey.
Hi Corey,
I wanted to provide an update here, as Storyline 2 Update 8 was just released, and included a number of fixes which you can see in the release notes available here. The item you all may be particularly interested in is how it fixed an issue where a video would no longer be synced with the slide's timeline after using the seekbar to scrub back and forth through the video. You can download the latest update here, and after downloading and installing the latest update you’ll want to republish any existing content to ensure that the updates and fixes are applied.
