Quiz timer

It seems the quiz timer is still allowing learners to complete the quiz, and obtain a success result even if the timer has expired.  Apparently it is a known bug that will be fixed in the next version, but I don't know how old that information is...

Is there a variable that is set when the timer expires that i can then use to display a different result layer and adjust the score?

Is there a way to customize the feedback dialog for the timer expiry?

  • Awesome, William, and thanks for sharing your case number! It looks like our engineer, Victor, replied to your case last night via email, so if you have yet to receive that message, please check your SPAM folder, as it may have been routed there in error. If you have not received it at all, please let us know that, as well!

  • Excellent! Glad to hear you are receiving the emails being sent, William! So, all you'll need to do is reply to Victor via email so that we can track it in your case, and we'll continue to follow along in order to share relevant/general updates here in the thread for others who may benefit. :)

  • Hi everyone,

I'm using STL 360 and i have the same issue reported by Guy. It seems to me that nothing changed and i just wondering why after 8 years this issue hasn't been fixed yet. With expired time we should not obtain a Success result, apart from the number of correct answers.

  • Hi, Eugenio.

    Thank you for reaching out!

I wasn't able to reproduce what you're experiencing. I created a quiz with a timer in Storyline 360, published it to LMS, and tested it in SCORM Cloud. When the timer expired, I was taken to the Results slide, and the report showed Incomplete as the Success status.

Can you share your .story file through a support case so we can investigate what's happening?

  • Hi Maria, in other words i have a question bank with 3 multiple choice questions, passing score 60% and a quiz timer of one minute.

If i answer correctly to the first question, select the correct choice on the second question and wait, when time expires it takes me to the report slide, obtanining a success result based on 2 correct answers of 3. What i mean is that when time expires i should obtain a failure result, regardless of number of correct answers chosen until that moment.  Just like Guy said before.

Is there a way to customize the feedback dialog for the timer expiry?

    Here's the file .story, thanks!
